This Privacy Policy describes how Alo ("Alo", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our mobile application, website, and related communication services (collectively, the "Services").

By using Alo, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1. Who we are

Alo provides international virtual phone numbers and voice calling through a mobile application available on iOS and Android. Alo does not provide outbound SMS or text messaging services.

2. Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account, we collect information such as your name, email address, password (stored in hashed form), and optional profile details.

Communication data

To provide calling services, we process:

  • Phone numbers you purchase or use through Alo
  • Call metadata (date, time, duration, direction, status)
  • Contacts you choose to import or save in the app

Device and technical data

  • Device type, operating system, app version
  • Push notification tokens
  • IP address and network information
  • Microphone access during active calls (audio is transmitted for call functionality only)

Payment and usage data

  • Wallet balance, package purchases, and usage records
  • Transaction history related to in-app purchases or top-ups

3. How we use your information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain voice calling services
  • Authenticate users and secure accounts (including two-factor authentication)
  • Process payments and manage packages
  • Deliver push notifications for incoming calls
  • Display call history and contacts
  • Prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our policies
  • Comply with legal and regulatory obligations
  • Improve app performance and customer support

We do not use your data for third-party advertising or sell your personal information.

4. How we share information

We may share information only in these circumstances:

  • Service providers: Including telecommunications carriers and infrastructure partners (such as Telnyx) that help deliver calls
  • Payment processors: To process wallet top-ups and purchases
  • Legal requirements: When required by law, regulation, court order, or to protect rights and safety
  • Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, with notice where required

5. Data retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You may request account deletion as described below.

6. Security

We implement technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, secure authentication, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

7. Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

8. Account deletion

Alo is not intended for users under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided us data.

10. International transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. We take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards when data is transferred internationally.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance.
