Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") defines permitted and prohibited uses of Alo's voice and virtual number services. Alo does not provide outbound SMS or text messaging. This policy supplements our Terms of Service.

Violation of this policy may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account and numbers, without refund.

1. Permitted uses

Alo is intended for legitimate personal and business voice communication, including:

  • One-to-one or consensual business phone calls
  • Customer support calls (with consent where required)
  • International business communication
  • Remote team and client calling

2. Prohibited uses

You may not use Alo for:

  • Cold-call telemarketing or unsolicited robocalling
  • Auto-dialed calls without proper consent
  • Phishing, fraud, impersonation, or social engineering
  • Harassment, threats, hate speech, or abusive conduct
  • Illegal gambling, adult content, or prohibited industries
  • Transmission of malware or malicious content
  • Circumventing carrier filters or STIR/SHAKEN requirements
  • Number spoofing for deceptive purposes
  • Reselling or sublicensing numbers without written approval
  • Any activity that violates applicable telecom, privacy, or consumer protection laws

3. Call conduct

  • No continuous or excessive calling to the same destination
  • No calls to emergency services (e.g., 911) through virtual numbers unless explicitly supported and compliant
  • No use of Alo to bypass lawful intercept or lawful call recording requirements

4. Number usage

  • Numbers must be used in the country/region for which they were provisioned where required by law
  • Numbers may not be used solely to receive verification codes for third-party platforms in violation of those platforms' terms
  • Idle numbers may be reclaimed per our Terms

5. Monitoring and enforcement

We and our carrier partners monitor traffic for abuse patterns. We reserve the right to block destinations, throttle traffic, suspend numbers, or terminate accounts to protect network integrity and comply with carrier requirements.

6. Reporting abuse

Report suspected abuse to abuse@getaloapp.com. Include relevant phone numbers, timestamps, and call details.
